VIGNALE, Silvana P. Arturo A. Roig: Latin American Philosophy as a Philosophy of the Dawn. Utopìa y Praxis Latinoamericana [online]. 2010, vol.15, n.51, pp.151-158. ISSN 1315-5216.

Latin American philosophy is presented by the Argentinean philosopher Arturo Roig as a philosophy of the morning, in counterpoint to an evening philosophy that supposes an entire future contained in its past. Openness toward the future as otherness from a philosophy of the dawn affirms, in the first place, the historicity of all men, which is not played out by certain subjects in a historical process of becoming aware, but in the possibility of “a making and gestation” of the subject. In this way, historicity is thought about from the viewpoint of regulations belonging to the construction of subjectivity. Conceived as a plural, relative subject, anchored in its context and time, historicity constitutes it.

Palavras-chave : Historicity; subjectivity; Latin American philosophy; Latin America.
